Platelet-rich plasma
(PRP)

Understand the preparation process, individual assessment and questions to discuss with your practitioner.

01 · UNDERSTANDING PRP

Prepared from your own blood

PRP is a portion of plasma containing concentrated platelets, prepared by collecting and processing a sample of your own blood. Platelets contain growth factors. How PRP is used depends on the clinical purpose and your individual assessment.

A consultation helps you understand the evidence, potential benefits, risks and alternatives for your concern.

02 · OUR SYSTEM

The T-Lab system

Yasmine’s Aesthetics uses the T-Lab system for PRP preparation. Blood is collected using purpose-designed components and processed in a centrifuge to separate the blood components.

Your practitioner will explain the procedure and discuss whether it is appropriate for you. Treatment outcomes vary.

Your questions, answered

What is PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is prepared from a sample of your own blood. A centrifuge separates the blood components so that a portion of plasma containing concentrated platelets can be collected. Platelets contain substances called growth factors.

Which system does Yasmine’s Aesthetics use?

Yasmine’s Aesthetics uses the T-Lab system to prepare PRP. The system includes purpose-designed collection components and centrifugation to separate the blood sample. Your practitioner can explain the preparation process during your consultation.

What happens at an appointment?

Your practitioner first reviews your medical history, concerns and suitability. If treatment is appropriate and you consent, a blood sample is collected and processed. The planned method of application, discomfort management and aftercare are explained before proceeding.

Is PRP suitable for everyone?

No. Tell your practitioner about medical conditions, blood or platelet disorders, infections, allergies and all medicines or supplements you take. These can affect suitability. An assessment is needed before any treatment is recommended.

What results can I expect?

Results are not guaranteed. Your practitioner will explain the evidence, limitations and realistic expectations for your particular concern, as well as alternatives and the option of no treatment.

Does treatment hurt?

Blood collection and any injections can cause discomfort. Your practitioner will discuss how discomfort can be managed and what to expect with your proposed procedure.

What are the risks and possible side effects?

Blood collection and injections can cause pain, bruising, bleeding or swelling. Infection and reactions to other materials used during the procedure are also possible. Using your own blood does not make treatment risk-free. Your practitioner will explain the risks relevant to your treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no single schedule suitable for everyone. The proposed number of sessions and any review appointments depend on your concern, assessment and response. These will be discussed before treatment.

What should I do before and after treatment?

Provide a complete medication list and follow your practitioner’s individual instructions. Do not stop prescribed medicines, including blood thinners, without advice from your prescribing clinician. Ask about skin care, activity, recovery time and when to seek medical help.
